Key Merger for Black Enterprise!

Black Enterprise and Film Life Inc. have joined forces to create ABFF Ventures, a cooperative vehicle to further leverage Film Life Inc's American Black Film Festival mission of "giving content makers of color from the worlds of film and TV a supportive platform for networking, learning, and showcasing art."

This cooperative is both powerful and significant in that it connects Black Enterprise's already burgeoning television, movies and social media framework to the creative genius displayed at the nation's largest gathering of Black film makers and TV enthusiast. This merger positions ABFF Ventures to ignite a potential shift in paradigm for Black movie makers, actors and other Black professionals of the entertainment industry by offering a viable and profitable alternative to what Chris Rock recently labeled (in so many words), "The Black Division of Hollywood". Such a shift would not be a return to segregation but rather offer consumers a more diverse alternative in market production representative of the impact that Black consumers have on that industry.

The 2013 Neilson's "African American Consumer Report" states that Blacks go to movies 6.3 times per year and watch "37% more television than any other [group], spending seven hours and 17 minutes per day viewing tv compared to five hours and 18 minutes of total viewing for total market." And with an estimated 3.1 trillion in total spending capacity, it's no wonder that retailers are strategizing to maximize the commercial windfall of the Black consumer.

As it continues to develop, ABFF Ventures is poised to impact market trends by producing premiere diversified productions in television, movies and entrepreneurial development and has the capacity to be a key player in the overall national and international entertainment industry.
